Following my feedback received for my Project Proposal (PRP300), I’ve made use of Gibb’s Reflective Cycle as a framework to reflect on the insights gained and create myself actionable tasks to aid my progression into Project Development and ongoing improvement throughout Year 3.
My Reflective Cycle:
Description: I thoroughly examined competitors, acknowledging both the positives and negatives in a structured manner.
Feelings: I felt a sense of excitement and challenge while delving into the competitor analysis, recognising the potential for improvement.
Evaluation: The evaluation phase highlighted the importance of a user-focused approach and the need to capitalise on identified opportunities.
Analysis: Analysing the competitive landscape emphasised the role of user personas in shaping design decisions for a more targeted approach.
Conclusion: The conclusion drawn is that, while this is a proposal stage, a glimpse into the envisioned tool’s appearance could provide stakeholders with a more tangible understanding.
Action Plan: For future proposals, I plan to include conceptual visuals or rough design sketches to offer an initial proposed look and feel.
To Summarise
This activity highlighted the room for improvement by generating a mixture of excitement and challenge.
Action Points:
- Incorporate Visuals in Proposals: Integrate conceptual visuals or rough design sketches in future proposals to offer a tangible preview of the proposed tool’s appearance.
- Continuous User-Centric Focus: Maintain a consistent user-focused approach throughout the project development, ensuring that user needs and expectations remain central to decision-making.
- Iterative Improvement: Embrace an iterative mindset, regularly revisiting and refining the proposal based on insights gained during the development stages.
By incorporating these action points, I aim to enhance the overall quality and effectiveness of future project proposals, fostering a more comprehensive understanding and engagement.
